“Y! ”
Little Jimmy came out of my interest in animatronics and Twitch chat integration. Basically I wanted a little sidekick that people watching the livestream could control. I decided to go with something of a self-portrait because I’d rather not inflict my caricatures on someone else.
Eventually I want to go back to this project and add further functionality, but like this proof of concept showing two ranges of motion from two servo motors: back and forth, and up and down. But there’s no real limit to this project— you could add motorized eyebrows to express all kinds of emotions, eyelids to wink, even a mouth to smile and frown or sync to dialogue.
